South Jordan Recreation Center, South Jordan, Utah
The South Jordan Recreation Center has one of the most unique pool designs. When the City Manager requested the “largest lazy river possible”, that is what he got. The 7,538 square foot leisure pool has a zero entry with a larch alligator themed children’s slide, interactive shooters, bubblers and a large interactive spray feature that features a tipping trough. Just beyond the spray feature there is a mushroom feature and floating lily pad.
The 232 foot long lazy river incorporates a waterfall feature, a vortex pool and deck sprays throughout the river. The 21 foot tall water slide, 6’-0” deep water aerobics area and lap lanes contained within the pool round out this interesting use of space.
